MOXY Ltd., Co. was founded in 2025 with a mission to bring innovation to regenerative medicine and medical device manufacturing by leveraging advanced fiber manufacturing technologies developed at Kyoto Institute of Technology. Our name, “MOXY,” combines the initials of the three founders and echoes the English slang meaning “vigor” or “courage.” We are engineers and researchers from diverse backgrounds, united by a common purpose.

Recent advances in medical technology have been striking—especially in regenerative medicine, which seeks to restore impaired tissues and organs using cells and engineered materials. Progress in this field depends not only on traditional medical science but also on engineering disciplines such as materials science and fabrication. We are proud to play our part through ongoing research and development.

Academic research often prizes originality, world-first achievements, and technical excellence. For university-founded startups, this emphasis can sometimes push researchers’ perspectives to the forefront and create a gap between academic ambition and market needs. We are mindful of that risk. Our customers—universities, companies, and medical institutions—have different needs than general consumers. They seek to enhance the quality of their products and services, and we aim to support them by maintaining close communication, delivering what is currently required, and proactively proposing new possibilities that add value to their offerings.

In developing scaffolds for biological tissues and manufacturing medical devices, we work to overcome previous limits in precision and functionality. Our goal is to support better patient outcomes and contribute to the future of healthcare through continuous research and development. MOXY’s aspiration is to make a modest but meaningful contribution to people’s well-being by providing new technologies. Drawing on years of experience in research and development in both academia and industry, I am committed to bringing university-born technology into practical use in society.
